Job description

Are you a Financial Modeller looking to drive strategic decision making with innovative, high quality financial models?

London Business School is seeking a skilled Financial Modeller to join our Finance team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for creating, improving, maintaining, and updating high-quality, flexible financial models. These models support strategic planning, financial management, and external governance requirements. You will enhance decision-making capabilities, providing insights to support governance and strategic initiatives.

The Finance department plays a crucial role in supporting the School's strategic objectives through comprehensive financial services, including strategic planning, transaction processing, corporate governance, and procurement support.

Main Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain transparent financial models, including bespoke models for the School.
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis and evaluations against KFIs and financial metrics.
  • Support strategic planning and decision-making, ensuring alignment with objectives.
  • Provide insightful financial information to support Finance Leadership with strategic initiatives and ongoing business decision making.
Ideal Candidate
  • Advanced Excel/Power BI skillsets with the ability to build complex models or tools.
  • Knowledge of the TechnologyOne Reporting Suite is advantageous but not essential.
  • Solid experience in data management/analytics within finance.
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts and a solid understanding of financial analysis terminology and best practices alongside good commercial acumen.
  • Keen eye for detail and an ability to sift through large data sets to extract meaningful information.
  • Ability to prioritise and focus on material issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • A problem solver with exceptional communication skills - able to simplify technical concepts for non-tech stakeholders and to engage a variety of audiences.
  • Sound working knowledge of policies, regulations and legislation in area of specialism.
