Job description

At Tide, we are building a finance platform designed to save small businesses time and money. We provide our members with business accounts and related banking services, but also a comprehensive set of connected administrative solutions from invoicing to accounting.

Launched in 2017, Tide is now used by over 1 million small businesses across the world and is available to UK, Indian and German SMEs. Headquartered in central London, with offices in Sofia, Hyderabad, Delhi, Berlin and Belgrade, Tide employs over 2000 employees.

Tide is rapidly growing, expanding into new markets and always looking for passionate and driven people. Join us in our mission to empower small businesses and help them save time and money.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Here at Tide, we are looking for a proactively minded and accomplished Fincrime Intelligence Unit Manager with a sound working knowledge of the UK National Intelligence Model and strong experience in handling, managing and disseminating intelligence within a financial services setting. We need a passionate and experienced individual, who will help ensure Tide is taking the relevant steps towards an intelligence led and risk based approach to fincrime risk mitigation.

As the Fincrime Intelligence Unit Manager, you will be responsible for building and establishing Tide’s intelligence capabilities, hiring the team and defining processes which deliver on our strategy and objectives. You will be comfortable in setting priorities and developing the team’s roadmap, engaging with the right people at the right time to get things done; including Product Teams and Data Analytics Specialists. You will also be involved in wider Financial Crime projects, working with other teams across the business and other financial institutions, so proven stakeholder management and organisational skills are key.

Your deep understanding of investigations and reporting will position you perfectly for the close collaboration the Fincrime Intelligence Team will have with Tide’s Proactive Investigations, and effectively using their outputs to derive actionable intelligence. You’ll be comfortable using your coding, Excel and data analysis skills as part of intelligence assessment.

You’ll be a key representative of Tide, through in-person meetings with Enforcement Agencies and participation in intelligence sharing forums. You’ll be comfortable dealing with the nuances of managing relationships with external intelligence partners, conducting appropriate research and producing comprehensive reports for use within Tide or to be shared with external parties. Your meticulous eye for detail will provide assurance on the quality of the information we report to a wide range of stakeholders. You will be part of the Fincrime Intelligence and Reporting Team, reporting to Tide's Fincrime Intelligence and Reporting Lead, and have a proven track record in defining targets and SLA's at the process, team and individual level.

As the FIU Manager you’ll:

  • Build and manage the FIU Team, hiring the right people, and establish Tide’s fincrime intelligence capabilities.
  • Be proficient at using SQL and Excel to handle and assess large datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with the Proactive Investigations Team and take action to disrupt bad actors, preventing them from using Tide and targeting our members.
  • Stay current on fraud/financial crime trends and emerging threats, appropriate sharing of information with team members, management and the wider Ongoing Monitoring space.
  • Develop and implement new policies and procedures as the function evolves and matures.
  • Be a strong Leader, setting the standards whilst supporting others in the team through coaching and buddying.
  • Use intelligence insights to identify potential control environment improvements.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum of 6 years experience working with Fincrime Intelligence, ideally involving initiating intelligence-led proactive investigations.
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills and able to handle complex data.
  • Expert knowledge of the National Intelligence Model, Fincrime and Fraud typologies, regulations and compliance.
  • Fighting financial crime is your passion and you have a proactive mindset towards prevention and detection but considerate of operational impact.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, ability to adapt and respond to challenges.
WHAT YOU WILL GET IN RETURN
  • Flexible working options.
  • Share options.
  • Group Life Insurance.
  • Vitality Health Insurance, with a proactive focus on mental and physical wellbeing.
  • 25 days holiday with the ability to buy extra days.
  • 3 days for L&D or volunteering time off per year.
  • We invest in your development with a £1,000 professional L&D budget per year.
  • Access to ‘salary sacrifice’ benefits such as Cycle to Work scheme and pension contribution.
  • Spacious brand-new office near Old Street with an all-day snacks bar.
  • Enhanced family-friendly leave.
  • Sabbatical leave.
