Job description

BMW Group Financial Services UK is seeking a seasoned Financial Calculations Expert with Project Management experience to lead a new approach to Calculations Governance. This pivotal role will oversee all financial calculations across our UK and Ireland operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role is based at the Summit ONE Campus in Farnborough.

What Awaits you?

  1. Lead the Calculations Governance Framework: Establish and implement a comprehensive framework for all business calculations related to processes, products, and services, fostering a culture of governance aligned with FCA Guidelines and Consumer Duty.
  2. Calculations Mapping and Repository: Create a centralised repository of calculations, mapping them in accordance with the new governance framework to support all stakeholders.
  3. Ongoing Governance and Validation: Develop a robust governance framework to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial calculations, continuously validating them against processes and products.
  4. Customer Remediation Support: Analyse and validate calculations to address any discrepancies impacting customer outcomes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  5. Governance Management Roadmap: Collaborate with stakeholders to outline a future roadmap for calculations governance, developing an approved blueprint for management. This includes presenting findings to senior stakeholders and sponsors, effectively influencing decision-making, and securing buy-in from the business to ensure alignment and support for the proposed initiatives.
  6. Expertise and Training: Be recognised as a go-to expert in financial calculations around the business, providing training and mentoring to enhance awareness and understanding of the governance framework.

What should you bring along?

  1. A strong academic background in mathematics or accounting, or extensive experience in financial modelling and data analysis.
  2. Proven project management skills to develop a sustainable governance framework.
  3. Expertise in financial modelling, calculations, and data analysis, with the ability to interpret and translate complex financial data.
  4. Familiarity with finance-related systems and accounting principles, along with knowledge of financial modelling tools.
  5. Experience in financial governance using methodologies like Lean or Agile.
  6. Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels and presenting findings effectively.
  7. Strong prioritisation and workload management skills, with a collaborative and self-motivated approach.
  8. Understanding of regulatory requirements, including Consumer Duty and FCA Guidelines.
  9. Commercial awareness and a customer-centric mindset.
  10. Knowledge of Fleet Management and Quotation Systems (e.g., Fleetware, ICON, FAMOS, SEAL) is a plus.
