The Role
As a continually growing business and as part of our commitment to regulatory compliance and risk management, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our new onboarding team as a Financial Crime Analyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough Know Your Customer checks on new and existing customers to ensure compliance with UK financial services regulatory requirements, through reviewing and analysing customer documentation, verifying identity, and assessing the risk associated with the client.
- Understanding and investigating high risk customers identified through the screening of Sanctions, PEPs and Adverse Media and applying enhanced due diligence (EDD) accordingly.
- Managing the customer’s onboarding journey, taking ownership of KYC reviews and maintaining regular customer contact where necessary.
- Conducting periodic reviews and event driven reviews on existing customers.
- Escalate complex issues to the wider financial crime team and MLRO.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer information and due diligence activities.
- Taking responsibility for continuous learning of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and relevant laws and guidelines.
- Working closely with other departments, including Legal, Compliance, and Customer Services, to address KYC-related issues and provide support.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree (desirable).
- AML/KYC qualification, such as ICA (desirable).
- 3 years in a financial crime analyst role with responsibilities including adverse media and sanction screening.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills alongside experience of transaction monitoring.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience dealing with customers over the phone and excellent written skills.
- Ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Be adaptable to the challenges of a growing business.
