Company Description

Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor.

We've been safeguarding people's financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders.

We are one of the world's largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income.

Our Group Functions provide the services that all areas of the business need. This requires a talented and diverse team behind the scenes, who enable everyone at L&G to do what they do best.

Joining us means helping to improve the lives of our customers and contributing to the success of the business every day.

Job Description

We're recruiting for a Financial Crime Analytics and Technology Manager to join us.

This role is crucial in the creation and ongoing development of our first-line financial crime team. You will be the lead and subject matter expert for all the team's analytical and technology-based responsibilities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Taking charge of the technical aspects of our financial crime controls and tools, including maintaining the screening filter, managing the due diligence workflow, and supporting the implementation of new tools and controls
  • Reviewing, enhancing, or defining end-to-end processes for the team's financial crime controls to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
  • Collaborating with the team and stakeholders to develop and produce regular management information
  • Acting as the point of contact for the Group's data and technology functions, especially when issues arise
  • Performing data analysis and testing to assess the effectiveness of financial crime controls and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team and stakeholders on various initiatives
  • Managing and developing the team in accordance with company policies and procedures to achieve business objectives
  • Ensuring all statutory and regulatory reporting is carried out in line with Consumer Duty accountability, and escalating issues to senior management and divisional risk teams as needed
Qualifications

Who we're looking for:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), SQL, XML, and visualisation tools is essential
  • Extensive experience in financial crime and analytics or technology-based roles within financial services firms
  • General knowledge of products/sectors such as insurance, investment management, pensions, annuities, and other financial services
  • Understanding of non-UK regulatory and legislative frameworks related to financial crime, including sanctions, AML/CTF, fraud, ABC, CCO, insider dealing, and market abuse
  • Strong knowledge of key financial crime risks and controls in the financial services industry
  • Experience in producing financial crime reports and management information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for delivering high-quality management information and presentations
  • High attention to detail and ability to work effectively both individually and within a team

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years' service. There's also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • There are the many discounts we offer - both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • In 2023, some of our workspaces were redesigned. Our offices are great spaces to connect and collaborate and have your wellbeing at the heart
