Number one in finance for a modern, ambitious, growing and profitable business.

You’ll manage the full train set – leading a team of 3 in finance.

The remit reports directly to the MD for the UK business and you will be a crucial financial sounding board.

There’s loads to get stuck into and this is a business that sits in the ‘best of both world’s bracket’ – small enough (sub £50m turnover) to make a real impact but part of a larger (£1bn+ turnover) parent group that can offer investment, security and rapid scalability.

It’s a role that would suit someone on the journey to FD.

You will have potentially developed your technical accounting experience and business acumen while working in practice (and qualifying ACA / ACCA) or perhaps you came up through the industry route – progressing from grass roots to a fully fledged FC role while boxing off CIMA or ACCA.

This exposure and remit will equip you with the experience, commercial exposure and rounded toolkit to springboard you into your first FD role (you can transition into it here).

If you are a diligent, ambitious and hands on Accountant looking for a fully fledged Head of Finance role it would be great to speak.

Required:

• Ability to deliver and discuss credible board packs for a reasonably complex business in the £25m-£50m bracket.
• ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• A track record of success as ‘number 2 in finance’ – operating at FC level most likely currently.
• Solid technical accounting skills (from practice or industry).
• Ability to lead, coach and develop a small team to ensure month end runs smoothly.
• Ability to deliver financial information, guidance and suggestions to board level.
• A hands on approach to the nitty gritty where required.
