Role Summary

The Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role is critical in providing financial insights to support decision-making, drive business growth, and optimise operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance and accounting, a strategic mindset, and a long-term ambition to step into a CFO role as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Management & Compliance: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial controls, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the company’s budgeting, cash flow, and forecasting processes, ensuring financial stability and long-term planning.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Deliver accurate financial statements and reports, monitor KPIs, and provide insights to support data-driven decision-making.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Support senior leadership with financial modeling, risk assessment, and scenario planning to drive business growth and profitability.
• Process Optimisation: Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, ensuring efficiency and scalability as the business expands.
• Leadership & Development: Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and preparing for long-term financial leadership.

• Financial Management: Strong accounting and financial reporting skills with a solid understanding of GAAP and compliance regulations.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop financial models, assess risks, and contribute to business growth strategies.
• Analytical Skills: Expertise in tracking key financial metrics, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights.
• Leadership & Team Development: Capable of leading a finance team, optimising processes, and fostering a culture of accountability.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions to improve financial performance.
• Stakeholder Communication: Ability to present financial data in a clear, concise manner to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or ACCA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel/financial modelling skills.
• Experience in a fast-growth or multi-location business is a plus.
• Ambition to step into a CFO role as the company scales.
