Job description

Hands-on Finance Manager required for a growing business within a newly created role

Your new company
A dynamic and growing SME dedicated to providing customer excellence within their sector seeks to appoint a Financial Controller within a newly created role as they continue to grow into 2025 and beyond. This role could represent a great next step for an ambitious accountant seeking their first step into an FC role with scope to progress beyond that in time.

Your new role
You will oversee a small team responsible for the financial ledgers whilst supporting the Finance Director with the budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting process. Furthermore, you will develop / implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. You will manage cash flow, run the month-end process and play a key role in the statutory obligations at the year-end. You will work on a range of projects to ensure that finance moves more towards a business partnering function in order to truly add value to the rest of operations. Furthermore, you will lead a local team, supporting their development as they adopt new ways of working and best practice.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant (or soon to qualify) with an affinity for a hands-on SME environment. You will demonstrate excellent organisation and prioritisation skills alongside a willingness to get your hands dirty as required. You will relish working in a fast-paced environment where there is plenty of opportunity to combine both BAU and ad-hoc elements of your role.

What you'll get in return
You will get the chance to work closely with operations in a collaborative business company who demonstrate an excellent culture. Whilst many of the staff members choose to work fully in the office, there is scope to work on a hybrid basis should you wish. Bonus and further benefits will be on offer in a role where you can really make it your own under the guise of an excellent Finance Director with strong commercial acumen.
