We are excited to partner with an ambitious and rapidly growing digital insurance group on the search for a highly skilled and hands-on Group Financial Controller. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven individual to play a key role in the financial leadership of a business with impressive organic growth and an ambitious acquisition strategy. You will be joining a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture that is poised for continued success.

Reporting into the Group CFO, the successful candidate will be a crucial part of the finance team. The role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities, from overseeing financial operations to managing FP&A activities, with the opportunity to progress in the organisation as the business continues to scale. This is an exciting and varied role for someone looking to step into the PE cycle and gain exposure to the operational side of a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accurate and timely submission to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Managing the closing process for monthly and year-end accounts, ensuring completeness and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Leading the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Preparing and presenting insightful financial analysis and performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Driving the tracking and analysis of key financial metrics, ensuring they align with business performance targets.
  • Supporting strategic business initiatives by providing detailed financial insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, particularly finance, operations, and sales, to drive financial performance.
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through in-depth analysis of financial data, and suggesting actionable strategies.
  • Reviewing financial controls and procedures to mitigate risks and improve the quality of financial reporting across the business.
  • Assisting in the development of financial systems and processes to scale with the company’s growth.

Key Requirements:

  • ACA qualified (trained in practice) with relevant industry experience.
  • A technically strong accountant, ideally with exposure to financial services or regulated industries (insurance experience is advantageous but not essential). Expertise in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience in FP&A, with the ability to handle cost modelling and financial forecasting.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to work in a fast-growing business.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, with an appetite for continuous learning.
