Purpose
As a member of the senior management team (SMT), this high-profile role takes overall ownership of financial control, planning & analysis, and transactional activities for the company. It requires full end-to-end ownership over the management accounts, budgeting & forecasting process, cashflow reporting, control environment, year-end audit delivery, tax, regulatory reporting, and oversight of the transactional processing team. As the number two to the CFO, this role will support them in driving the finance agenda across the business.
Who we are looking for
This role will suit a finance all-rounder with excellent experience in financial control and processes, cashflow management, and a passion for finance business partnering, forecasting, and financial modelling. Candidates should have experience in an SME business and a passion for championing finance across a business.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, KPI, capex, and cost centre reports.
- Prepare the finance board pack in conjunction with the CFO.
- Work with the Finance manager to oversee the management of a small transactional finance team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare the annual budget in conjunction with the SMT.
- Prepare financial forecasts in conjunction with SMT and wider business, understanding performance drivers.
- Provide finance business partnership support to the SMT on key business initiatives and projects.
- Support the SMT and CFO with the production of business cases.
- Monthly capex reporting for the capex committee.
- Monthly cost centre reviews with cost centre owners.
- Produce month-end management accounts within 5 working days.
- Manage the company cash position and operational banking.
- Ensure accuracy of financial reporting and integrity of balance sheet controls.
- Manage the year-end hard close process and annual audit.
- Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts by a 3rd party partner.
- Manage local statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Produce other ad-hoc financial reports as required.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Company.
Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant.
- Minimum of 5 years' PQ experience in financial control and FP&A.
- Experience working in an SMT environment.
