Job description

We are recruiting for a qualified Financial Controller for a family-owned SME Manufacturing Business in Bradford. The Financial Controller will oversee the full financial operations for the UK entity. The Financial Controller will ensure robust financial control, compliance, and reporting while driving process efficiencies and supporting strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will bring a solid background in accounting, preferably within manufacturing sectors, and will be confident managing complex transactions in a fast-paced, SME environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all financial operations for the UK entity.
  • Prepare and deliver UK cash flow and funds flow forecasts.
  • Produce Management accounts offering insights into financial performance.
  • Perform analysis to highlight trends, variances, and uncover efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Administer customer receivables to ensure timely collection and accurate reporting.
  • Manage the invoicing process to support revenue recognition and cash flow.
  • Oversee PAYE.
  • Coordinate and manage audit processes.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Proven track record working within SME environments.
  • Knowledge of capital equipment manufacturing and sales.
  • Proficient in accounting and ERP systems, particularly SAP.
  • Experience with financial modelling and reporting tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Multilingual capabilities would be advantageous.
