Role: Finance Assistant REMOTE FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IN EUROPEAN TIME ZONE

Reports to: Finance Manager

Role Summary:

We are looking for our next Finance Assistant to form part of our rock star finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the finance department is best positioned to support and drive the company's growth in this exciting, fast-paced industry.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to support the financial operations and ensure smooth and efficient financial management.

This role requires a proactive approach, strong numerical skills, and the ability to work under pressure, effectively prioritizing your workload. You must be tech-savvy, driving forward with curiosity and a growth mindset to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with daily bookkeeping processes such as invoices, journals, intercompany transactions, and general data entry in Xero across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Daily monitoring and ownership of key financial metrics to ensure the smooth running of the business.
  • Own and elevate balance sheet reconciliations across all material accounts.
  • Assisting with the month-end process (including, but not limited to, accruals, prepayments, and bank reconciliations), completing all tasks in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness across elements of our trial balance.
  • Assist with all year-end preparation work, including audit/statutory filing involvement.
  • Support the finance team in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial performance reports for management review.
  • Manage the expense reimbursement process and continuously look to enhance the service for our internal customers.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and external GAAP.
  • Understand the numbers and can effectively drive period-on-period variance analysis.
  • Assisting with projects with a finance lens on an as-needed basis and as assigned by the Finance Manager.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and external parties.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data management.
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments, especially operations and compliance, to ensure smooth financial workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound experience in taking part in full month-end cycles, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting.
  • You have advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Proficient in financial software and tools (e.g., Xero and Anaplan).
  • Accounting and/or finance-related degree qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, preferably within the industry.
