A large hospitality company in London is looking for a PQ Financial Accountant to join their team.

Your new company

A large hospitality company in North London is looking for a Part-Qualified Financial Accountant to join their finance team in a temporary assignment with scope to go permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  1. Assist in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  2. Conduct variance analysis on budgets and forecasts to identify key trends and discrepancies.
  3. Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and ensure they are kept up to date.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
  1. Support the month-end and year-end financial closing processes by preparing journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
  2. Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and audit schedules.
Accounts Management:
  1. Oversee and maintain accurate records for accounts payable and receivable.
  2. Ensure proper maintenance of the general ledger and resolve any discrepancies.
  3. Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management activities.
Compliance and Controls:
  1. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
  2. Support the finance team in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Assist in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and changes in regulatory requirements.
Collaboration and Development:
  1. Work closely with senior members of the finance team to enhance reporting processes.
  2. Collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  3. Take ownership of designated finance projects to further develop your expertise.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in financial or management accounting.
  2. Qualifications: Actively pursuing a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
  4. Knowledge: A solid understanding of accounting principles, IFRS, and GAAP.
