About Our Client

Job Description

  1. Ensure Finance processes are compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) requirements.
  2. Responsible for the production of the financial statements and associated notes and narrative in line with IFRS.
  3. Responsible for the production of quarterly consolidation packs.
  4. Act as a key point of liaison between the organisation and External Audit.
  5. Ensure Non-Current Assets are correctly recognised, componentised and reported, including managing the required revaluation exercises and interpretation of impact to financial reserves and government accounting.
  6. Ensure any technical accounting adjustments, including provisions, impairments and write offs, are accurately assessed with supporting information to underpin management decisions.
  7. Provide technical accounting advice and guidance in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and the financial reporting manual (FReM).
  8. Ensure General Ledger control accounts are reconciled monthly, and Trial Balance is correctly reflected in management reporting with any differences controlled and managed.
  9. Ensure the organisation's leasing arrangements are correctly accounted for in line with IFRS16 Leases requirements.
  10. Provides accounting advice, analysis and scrutiny to support business managers in complex situations and contributes to future business strategies.
  11. Support the management of finance risks, ensuring that issues are identified, actioned, escalated, managed and mitigated as appropriate.

The Successful Applicant

  1. This role is suitable for someone who is qualified under one of the main five Consultative Committees of Accounting Bodies (CCAB) i.e. ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ICAS CIMA or equivalent with relevant experience.
  2. Relevant experience in a financial accounting or financial control role.
  3. Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills.
  4. Highly proficient with Excel and able to deal with large datasets, including creating financial models, with a strong ability to analyse the outputs, using this analysis to inform decision making and advise management if required.
  5. Strong experience with balance sheet management preferred.
