Job description

Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by an oil service company to hire a Financial Accountant on a staff basis. Our client is an established SME at the heart of the international offshore industry. This role will be based in Bridge of Don with hybrid working and flexibility. Our client is open to full time candidates or part time (3-4 days).

This role is responsible for management and financial accounting, reporting and control activities including providing organisational and administrative guidance for financial operations. To be considered, you will be an experienced Accountant, either qualified or part qualified. This is an excellent role with lots of variety and the opportunity to get involved in various areas of the business.

The Opportunity
  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts pack
  • Comparison of actuals to budget
  • Reviewing payroll input and final payroll reports
  • Assisting in managing the company’s cash flow
  • Preparation and submission of monthly VAT Returns
  • Managing the annual audit
  • Assist with preparation of detailed annual budget
  • Investigating and ensuring compliance with location-based taxation requirements (employment tax, income tax, withholding tax)
  • Provision of finance and accounting support for work in new regions
  • Supporting and assisting the Financial Administration Supervisor and Office Administrator
  • Continuing to develop and enhance finance systems to increase automation
  • Offering general tax and compliance support as needed
Background and Experience
  • Qualified accountant or part qualified
  • Management and financial accounting experience
  • Confident in liaising and building rapport with staff at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Sage experience (preferred)
