Finance Supervisor, Greater London

We are looking for a dynamic Finance Supervisor who is eager to learn about Emirates Holidays and assist Accounts Payable functions within the finance department, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you will be required to support the Finance Controller with technical tasks/assignments, as well as providing support to the other finance team members.

This role will be responsible for performing the accounting tasks for Emirates Holidays (EKH) in multiple countries, including UK & IE, Germany, and Scandinavia.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting the Accounts Payable function and ensuring the accurate and timely processing/reconciliation of financial transactions, as per EKH's financial procedures and in adherence with local legislation, for Emirates Holidays in UK & I, Germany, and Scandinavia.
• Entering all purchase invoices received from suppliers to the accounting system in a timely fashion, to accurately reflect EKH’s liabilities to creditors.
• Ensuring that the invoices are entered accurately so that they are processed to the correct category and expense and have obtained the necessary approvals.
• Completing the initial reconciliation of all supplier statements received for hotel, flight, and other ground service costs with the selling system each month.
• Raising all payments in the bank and ensuring that the payments are appropriately authorized, and accurate/timely credit period is fully availed of and supplier dues paid if only fully justified.
• Maintaining the supplier database, including ensuring the correct documentation is in place when creating new suppliers and updating existing suppliers in the ERP.
• Reconciling all payments in the Cash Management module.
• Processing customer refunds and compensation payments.
• Responding to supplier queries in an efficient and professional manner.
• Supporting with month and year-end closing processes, including providing all required documentation requested by, and responding to queries from external auditors on a timely basis for UK, Germany, and Scandinavia.

General

• Develop finance awareness amongst the non-finance business units through regular meetings.
• Ensure all activities comply with the local laws of UK & Ireland, Germany, and Scandinavia and within the terms of the company’s authorized business in the UK. Review EKH financial transactions to ensure that local laws and regulations are complied with, and legal and contractual liabilities are discharged in full.
• Supporting Finance Controllers in process improvements and process documentation.
• Assisting the wider finance department (Emirates & Emirates Holidays) in other related work as and when necessary, including acting as a backup during annual leave.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate or recognised professional accounting qualification to the standard of Chartered Accountant, ACCA, or similar preferred.
• Relevant experience in a finance department.
• Advanced accounting knowledge and skills with advanced analytical ability.
• Ability to function independently within an established framework and be practical and innovative.
• Proven ability to organise a busy work schedule and meet deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office packages and ERP systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Tour Operator accounting procedures and familiarity with CAA/ABTA/ATOL regulations would be advantageous.
• Fluent in written and spoken English. Other European and/or Scandinavian languages advantageous.
