Finance Projects Manager – Shape the Future of British Horseracing

Join the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) as an Industry Finance Projects Manager

Are you ready to make a real impact in the world of horseracing? The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is looking for a Finance Projects Manager to oversee key financial projects that support the future of the sport. Based in Holborn, London, with hybrid working available, this is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of a major leisure and entertainment sector.

The impact you’ll make

In this senior strategic finance role, you will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, acting as a key advisor on industry funding and financial strategy. You will lead projects related to sport funding, including betting revenue, distribution of funds, and engagement with key financial partners and stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple complex, cross-functional financial projects to ensure successful execution.
  • Acting as the dedicated finance representative for Racing Digital.
  • Supporting the Chief Financial Officer on all industry financial matters.
  • Partnering with internal departments and external stakeholders to drive financial efficiencies.
  • Providing expert financial insight to support strategic decision-making.
  • Offering hands-on support across the Finance Department as required.

Your skills and experience

To excel in this role, you will need to be a strategic thinker with strong financial literacy and commercial acumen. You should be experienced in managing financial projects and working with diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Highly organised, with strong project management skills.
  • An excellent communicator, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic and analytical, with the ability to provide financial insights that drive decision-making.
  • A problem solver, able to develop creative and effective solutions.
  • Experienced in the British horseracing industry is desirable but not essential. We encourage applications from candidates with backgrounds in sports, sports betting, or consulting with a sporting focus.
  • Comfortable liaising with CEOs and financial directors.
  • Capable of working independently while closely partnering with the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

A professional finance qualification is but not essential.
