To build for the future and to make our structure more sustainable, a career graded post (F to H) has been implemented into RMBC’s Finance Business Partnering teams. The Career graded post allows the officer to transition with training and develop with experience from the more junior post in our structure through to being ready to become the Principal Finance Officer of the future. The post provides administrative and financial support to Finance team members and to stakeholders in the Housing Service.


As this role is a training grade, the successful applicant will work through the AAT levels, achieving Band G on completion of Level 3 and Band H on completion of Level 4, noting that if already achieved these levels, and have the relative experience, the starting grade will be adjusted accordingly. The role, responsibility of the role and grade will progress and become more challenging along with the level of training to match the grade, i.e the grade and responsibilities taken on by the post holder will progress together.


As a result of internal transfer of the previous postholder, we are looking for an ambitious, inquisitive, and innovative Finance Officer to join our Housing Business Partnering team. It is essential you have experience of working in a finance or audit role including operating or auditing computerised or manual financial systems and a proven track record of understanding and presenting financial information.


Specific work areas covered by this role include budget setting and budget monitoring, contributions to business planning, final accounts close-down and support and technical advice to budget holders.
