Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust for a dedicated individual to join our Financial Services team as Finance Officer (Accounts Receivable & Treasury).
We are looking for someone who is reliable and flexible, and who demonstrates commitment to achieving both their own and the Trust's goals, whilst fully contributing to the team.
The successful applicant will work within the Accounts Receivable and Treasury function in the effective provision of Financial Services for the Trust.
Main duties of the job
- Raise invoices on the accounts receivable system in accordance with procedures.
- Maintain awareness of VAT regulations and updates and ensure that invoices raised are appropriately reviewed in compliance with Trust procedures to ensure correct VAT treatment.
- Deal with debtor queries in a prompt, courteous and effective manner.
- Assist in credit control and referral to the Trust's debt advisors.
- Assist in the completion of the NHS debtor and income agreement of balances exercises.
- Maintenance of the daily cashbook and assist in cash monitoring.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels and good organisational skills with a real commitment to excellent service delivery. You must be capable of working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring consistency and accuracy, able to prioritise workloads, and be able to work on your own initiative as well as under supervision.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
- Relevant Maths, ICT and English qualification GCSE level or equivalent literacy.
- Actively studying towards AAT intermediate level NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Experience Essential
- Competent user of MS Office (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Experience of providing a service to wider organisation or customers.
Desirable
- Minimum 1 year's experience using Oracle or similar financial system in a large organisation.
- Knowledge of VAT legislation as applicable to the NHS.
- NHS finance experience.

- Highly developed keyboard skills with a high degree of accuracy.
