Finance Officer

RME Consultants are working with an exciting business to find a Finance Officer to join their team!

Role: Finance Officer

Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 per annum

Working Hours: Full Time Monday - Friday.

Location: Abingdon

Main Duties for the Finance Officer:

1. Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all transactions comply with internal policies and regulations.
2. Invoicing and Billing: Prepare and issue detailed monthly and termly invoices, adhering to strict deadlines.
3. Receivables Oversight: Respond to customer billing queries, monitor outstanding payments, and manage effective credit control processes.
4. Financial Reconciliations: Perform calculations for advance payments and conduct reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
5. External Liaison: Work with external funding bodies and assist with related administrative tasks.
6. Reporting and Analysis: Generate financial reports and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making within the Finance Team.

Experience requirement for the Finance Officer:

1. Finance Experience: Previous experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or similar financial roles is essential.
2. Qualifications: Ideally, you hold or are pursuing AAT Level 3 certification.
3. Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to managing financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
4. Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software.
5. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Problem-Solving Abilities: Skilled at addressing discrepancies and identifying effective solutions.
7. Communication Skills: Confident in liaising with internal and external stakeholders professionally.
8. Adaptability: Comfortable managing a high workload and working under pressure.
