Please note this role is advertised on a 15 Month FTC.

The Team: You will join the News UK Finance team and will be based at our Peterborough office.

Your Role: Your role as Finance Manager - Treasury will be an essential part of the Treasury Team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance - Treasury. Your role will cover elements across the News UK Group including Wireless Group, Octave and Newsprinters Holdings Limited where relevant and includes the management of a team of 4.

Day to day:

  • Operational review of daily and weekly cash-flow processes, including reporting to UK and US management.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly cash-flow submissions to UK and US management including variance analysis.
  • Preparation of rolling weekly and quarterly forecasts along with annual budgets and long range cash-flow plans, ensuring high level of engagement with business areas.
  • Management of accurate and timely recording of cash book entries and associated bank reconciliations.
  • Management of the daily cash-flow position process, including liaising with relationship banks and investing of funds.
  • Review of investment opportunities and preparation of proposals for review by UK and US management.
  • Forecast short and medium term foreign currency requirements.
  • SOX compliance. Assist in involvement in testing of finance processes including the review of documentation and testing and reporting any issues to management.

  • We're looking for someone with a full professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity to ask questions and continuously improve processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels.
  • Proactive approach and good attention to detail.
