Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Welwyn Garden City (Hybrid working arrangement)
Rate: £500 per day inside IR35 via Umbrella
Contract Type: 12 months

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join the Group Technical Accounting team of a leading global retailer. This role supports the Head of Technical Accounting in Group Finance and is perfect for someone looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Role Overview:
As a Finance Manager, you will provide expert technical accounting advice to management and finance teams across the Group. You will be involved in complex and high-profile transactions, manage the impact of new accounting standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical accounting advice to management and finance teams on complex and material transactions.
2. Prepare and review accounting papers supporting the accounting for key transactions, explaining complex issues clearly and concisely.
3. Monitor, analyse, and assess the impact of new accounting standards, amendments, and interpretations.
4. Continuously improve the organisation's accounting policies manual.
5. Design and present training webcasts on new accounting developments and topical issues.
6. Support the preparation and review of the organisation's annual and interim accounts, making suggestions for disclosure improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
2. Excellent knowledge of IFRS and its application to real-life situations.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail.
4. Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly.
6. Confidence to challenge and question in order to find the right answer.
7. Audit background and experience working in a complex and fast-paced organisation.
