Finance Manager - Overheads (Operations)

Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to work within our Operations business. The role can be based in either the United Kingdom or United States with flexible working available.

This position plays a critical role in providing the Operations Leadership Team, BU & Group F&A teams with timely analytics & insights of overhead costs. A key element of this role is to own & deliver the Operations BU centre EBIT & Cash flow through building relationships and promoting close links with Group, BU and BG finance leadership.

A key aspect of the role is ensuring that the BU President of Finance and Financial Controller have the information and analysis that they require, including both routine reports and ad-hoc analysis.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities:

  • Month end accounting and reporting for Operations Centre, across multiple ERPs and the Group consolidation tool.
  • Preparation of month end/budget/forecast reporting for overheads including variance analysis and commentary on results for Operations Centre.
  • Variance analysis and tracking of OHs across Ops BU.
  • Other ad hoc projects in efforts to support the BU (as needed).
  • Support team members as needed.
  • Work with Internal controls team for ICPQ and other compliance sign-offs.
  • Responsibility for Operations Centre balance sheet recs.
  • Budgeting and forecasting for Centre P&L and cash flow.
  • Supporting the BG finance teams with various Group allocations, such as shared costs, audit fees and Group Shared Costs.
  • Key Finance point of contact for the Operations ELT budget holders and their teams - reporting of actuals vs forecast, meetings as required, any other adhoc support required.
  • Dealing with audit and tax queries associated with Operations Centre.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified.
  • Professional postgraduate accounting qualification preferred but not required.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • A thorough understanding of Group policies and good knowledge of IFRS.
  • 3 years+ experience in a reporting or other key finance role within a complex global organisation.
  • Ability to influence and challenge current thinking at the highest levels through clear, informed and logical argument and discussion.
  • Ability to manage a developing team, with proven people management skills.
  • High levels of cultural awareness, sensitivity and discretion.
  • Group & BU financial performance and how it can deliver and add value to its customers.
  • Corporate governance and decision making.

  • Coordinating complex annual and long-term budgets and forecasting.
