Job Title: Finance Manager, 14 Month FTCA little bit about our team:We are Warner Chappell, where songwriters are heard. With offices in more than 40 locations around the world, we pride ourselves on how our local expertise drives global success for our dynamic roster of songwriters. The role will report into the SVP, Operations and Finance.
Your role:As a Finance Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial reporting and planning of the company. You will be responsible for recording transactions, providing financial insights and analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Here you'll get to:- Prepare the annual budget and monthly forecasts in line with the company's overall business objectives.
- Responsibility for the submission of timely monthly management accounts and financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including variance analysis. Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and optimize financial performance.
- Preparation of journals and reconciliations for any high risk or complex areas of the financial accounts, including revenue and royalty expense accounting calculations, advances and royalty payable reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review work for other areas of the financial statements prepared by other team members, to ensure accuracy of the P&L and Balance Sheet each month.
- Ensure robust financial controls are in place, adhering to GAAP/IFRS and music industry-specific accounting standards.
- Prepare accurate and timely annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP, including a reconciliation to the previously reported US GAAP financials.
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes, leveraging technology to improve data accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate with other departments, including licensing, royalties, and A&R, to provide financial insights and support business initiatives. Provide financial expertise and advice to help drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.
- Act as a mentor to other members of the finance team, providing advice and guidance for approaching projects or problem solving any issues that arise.
About you:- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the music industry or entertainment sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis principles and practices.
- Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Sound understanding of UK financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in financial software and tools, such as accounting software, financial modelling, and Microsoft Office/G-Suite applications.
