Ivy Rock Partners is delighted to be partnering with a dynamic, community-focused organisation to recruit a Finance Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring strong financial management, compliance, and strategic decision-making.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing a small team of 3, and driving continuous improvement across financial reporting, compliance, and commercial initiatives. This role plays a key part in shaping financial strategy and ensuring effective governance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and develop the finance team to ensure efficient service delivery across the organisation.
2. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal postings, and variance analysis.
3. Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for senior leadership, ensuring robust data to support decision-making.
4. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards, maintaining strong governance.
5. Drive the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring sound financial controls and resource allocation.
6. Coordinate external audits and implement recommendations effectively. Manage cash flow and cost recovery processes to support business sustainability.
7. Support system improvements, ensuring the organisation leverages technology for financial efficiency.
8. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicating financial insights clearly.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and strategic finance leader with a strong background in financial management and team leadership.

Key attributes include:

1. Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
2. Proven experience managing financial operations in a complex organisation.
3. Ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights for non-finance stakeholders.
4. Strong knowledge of financial regulations, budgeting, and audit processes.
5. Experience in housing, not-for-profit, or public sector finance is desirable but not essential.
6. A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
