Finance Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to head our finance team in our Leading E-commerce Software Company.

A full-time position has arisen for a Finance Manager to join our successful, rapidly growing E-commerce Software company. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-organised and talented individual that is passionate about a career in a fast-paced, fun, and driven environment.

The Finance Manager is a key role to ensure the financial integrity of the Group and reports directly to the General Manager of the Group. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with prior management experience.

International experience would be desirable as we operate across several countries including the Netherlands and USA.

We’re looking for someone with energy to build and improve in all that they are involved in; someone to develop new processes that underpin our financial strength as we grow. You’ll create, manage and present to the Leadership Team our key ratios and provide dependable financial intelligence across the business as well as guiding and developing your own team of a Financial Assistant and Purchase Ledger. You’ll be adept in Xero and able to use modern analytics to provide real insight at an advanced level. E-Commerce trading (especially Amazon) and International VAT compliance experience is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

As our Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and driving growth for the company.

2. Strategic Partner: Collaborate with leadership to provide actionable insights that guide business decisions.
3. Optimize Performance: Analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities for efficiency and growth.
4. Innovate Processes: Design and implement systems to streamline financial operations and reporting.
5. Mentor and Inspire: Manage a small, dynamic team, fostering their development and empowering them to succeed.
6. Stay Ahead: Monitor market trends and provide recommendations to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

1. Has 3-5 years of progressive finance experience, ideally in dynamic environments like startups, scale-ups, or high-growth industries.
2. Natural problem solver with strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset.
3. Thrives on challenges and is always looking for ways to learn and improve.
4. Is ambitious and driven, eager to grow in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversight of all financial data across the 4 Group companies, including operations in the EU.
2. Routine management of company financial affairs.
3. Driving of the group’s relevant Objectives and Key Results.
4. Responsibility for leading the finance team.
5. Reporting of monthly management information.
6. Liaison with accountants for preparation of statutory accounts.
7. Leading annual budgeting process.
8. Liaison with Group’s debt funders.
9. Liaison and management of banking relationships.
10. Oversight of all invoicing and pushing for constant improvement across the service streams offered by the Group.
11. Managing any escalated disputes raised by customers.
12. Processing of payroll, expenses and support for HR requirements.
13. Ensuring reconciliations of costs and chargeable expenses.
14. Preparation of cash flow forecasts and managing supplier payments.
15. Managing foreign exchange risk and relevant current cash balances.
16. Manage and reduce debtor list and liaise with global debt agencies where applicable.
17. Ensuring full tax compliance for Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE (or other relevant taxes as applicable across the group).
18. Develop and expand systems and processes to fit with a continuous improvement environment.
19. Consulting on technical VAT queries across the business.
20. Forecasting acquisition targets and supporting senior leadership with acquisition process and subsequent integrations.
21. Any other ad hoc tasks as and when required.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will:

1. Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
2. Circa 5+ year PQE.
3. Demonstrable experience of leading a team.
4. Strong communication skills with all levels of a business.
