The Finance Manager Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team, offering a fully integrated role combining financial reporting with strong business partnering. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial reporting. In addition to financial expertise, the role requires the ability to understand key business financial indicators and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to influence decision-making. You will report directly to the Finance Director.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee monthly management accounts, bank and intercompany reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, manage fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning, including monitoring performance and proposing corrective actions.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity, develop forecasts, and implement working capital management strategies.
Payroll & Compliance:
  • Process monthly payroll for US and UK entities, handle PAYE payments, pension returns, and manage healthcare/benefit schemes.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, and manage key HMRC filings.
  • Support external audits and maintain strong financial controls.
Team & Cost Management:
  • Support the Finance Team, promoting professional growth, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, collaborate on budgeting and expenditure control.
Systems & Tax Management:
  • Continuously improve financial processes and systems, focusing on efficiency and automation.
  • Oversee tax compliance and planning for optimal efficiency, including VAT and PSA filings.
Support & Ad-Hoc Responsibilities
  • Provide cover for team when required
  • Assist with other tasks as requested by the Financial Director
What we offer:
  • Competitive Salary of £55,000-70,000 per year depending on experience

What we look for:
  • Qualified accountant - either CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified or overseas equivalent; those part qualified or qualified by experience will also be considered
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience managing payroll is essential
  • Confident and professional communicator with a proven track record of advising senior stakeholders on financial matters
  • Proactive, structured and analytical approach to work; self-motivated and with the ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple stakeholder expectations
  • A team player who would thrive in our collaborative culture with the ability to actively contribute to wider organisational objectives
  • An understanding of the US financial, banking and payroll processes would be advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience with Xero is advantageous but not essential
