What You'll Be Doing
- Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts for all group entities.
- Leading cash flow forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial planning.
- Carrying out detailed KPI, variance, and OPEX analysis to support business performance.
- Managing and improving internal controls around POs and GRNs.
- Acting as the key contact for external auditors and statutory financial reporting.
- Submitting VAT returns, Aggregate Levy Returns, and Environment Agency submissions.
- Supporting ERP system upgrades and continuous improvement of finance processes.
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to their development.
- Working with the Head of Finance on business-wide finance projects and strategic initiatives.
- Regular travel between Burnley and Warrington to support local site needs.
What We're Looking For
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with strong, relevant SME experience.
- Proven experience preparing management accounts and supporting commercial decision-making.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Excellent Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modelling).
- Commercially minded - able to interpret numbers and tell the story behind them.
- Adaptable and flexible - thrives in a changing environment and able to pivot priorities.
- Collaborative approach - confident engaging with non-finance stakeholders across the business.
- Self-motivated and proactive - takes ownership and drives improvements.
- Comfortable balancing day-to-day tasks with strategic thinking.
