The Role
As a Finance Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Support the Business Facing Finance Director and Business Facing team on our Fire Training contracts. This is a key role within the business with a focus on increased controls around budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

Day-to-day, you’ll liaise with the Land Sector Finance Business Service (FBS) team, SAP FBS, Operations and Senior Management teams. Role is link between Finance and the Fire Training contracts. Cost drivers from the production operations need to be properly understood and communicated in the business:

1. Responsible for the financial management of the contract finances.
2. Reporting of the contract or site monthly accounts, budgets, forecasts and strategic plans.
3. Key member of the contract’s senior management team.
4. Supporting identified continuous improvement projects on behalf of the Finance function.
5. Identifying opportunities to improve the service.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to London and other nearby sites, on a monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential Experience of the Finance Manager:

1. Ability to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review.
2. Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed.
3. Business partnering skills.
4. Experience with EACs and long-term contract accounting.
5. Ideally, you will have experience in the defence or similar sector but, this is not essential.

Qualifications for the Finance Manager:

1. You must hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent / similar.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
