Reed Accountancy is pleased to assist our client in recruiting a Finance Manager for their Leicester-based operations. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a hybrid working arrangement following a successful probationary period.

Job Title: Finance Manager

Job Purpose:

To support the Divisional Finance Business Partner and oversee the financial management of a portfolio of contracts, ensuring accurate and robust forecasting and reporting of costs. The role involves advising on commercial decision-making and senior stakeholder management. The Finance Manager will provide high-quality finance management information to improve decision-making and profitability.

This is an exciting, commercially focused role directly involved in the successful delivery of various contracts. It offers a good entry opportunity with excellent prospects.

Main Duties

  1. Support the Divisional Finance Business Partner with management of all contract accounting and finance, ensuring accurate capturing of monthly costs.
  2. Robust and accurate forecasting of costs on a quarterly basis, ensuring budget holders are engaged and approve submissions.
  3. Partnering with budget holders to review spend detail and support decision-making around savings and business cases for investment.
  4. Supporting senior management to understand spend within their area and ensure client value for money is achieved on the programme.
  5. Reporting analysis for UK and Divisional FDs to support internal decision-making and external customer validation processes.
  6. Support with ad hoc financial queries and projects.
  7. Work with internal and external auditors.

Qualifications and/or Experience:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification. Candidates who are currently studying or qualified by experience are welcome to apply.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications, advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Use of financial systems (SAP) an advantage but not essential.

Individual competencies:

  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of an outsourced contracting relationship and/or sector experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, with the ability to adapt to and communicate with multiple stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to analyse and offer insight into different options.
  • Analytical approach with good commercial decision-making.
  • Accurate with a strong attention to detail.
  • Accurate and on-time delivery.
  • Works well in a team, across different functions.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently.
