Job description

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will oversee and manage the core finance function (a team of 5) in day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate financial and management reporting, analysis, and control across multiple revenue streams and business areas for multiple group companies.

This position is mostly site-based.

Description

  1. Manage and develop the core Finance Team of 5, setting their objectives, and overseeing all day-to-day activities.
  2. Assist the Senior Finance Manager with statutory and management accounts, whilst also monitoring and improving the robustness of the financial processes and controls.
  3. Responsible for preparing the month-end processes ensuring costs and income suitably accrued, prepaid, or deferred as appropriate.
  4. Prepare accurate VAT returns for multiple companies.
  5. Manage external relationships (HMRC, Pension, Auditors) playing a key role in the year-end statutory reporting and audits for multiple companies.
  6. Manage and continually improve departmental reporting and analysis, working with managers to understand the results and drive improvement.
  7. Develop a strong working relationship with the key stakeholders of the businesses as well as a commercial understanding of the businesses, playing a key role in improving financial performance.

Profile

  1. Newly qualified CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  2. Previous people management experience and driving performance.
  3. Proactive in continuous process improvements and system enhancements.
  4. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  5. Proficient user of finance software (Sage 200, Xero is advantageous).
  6. Strong analytical, decision-making, and management skills.
  7. Experience in a multi-company environment with cost accounting experience is well sought after.

Job Offer

  1. A competitive salary in the range of £50,000 - £55,000 GBP per annum.
