Full time
Edinburgh/Hybrid

At Viewpoint Housing Association (VHA), we are committed to enhancing the quality of life and well-being of older people across Edinburgh, the Lothians, and Fife. Since our establishment in 1947, we have dedicated ourselves to promoting independence, enabling choice, and providing peace of mind in safe, supported environments. We offer a range of general needs and supported housing, alongside care services, ensuring that our residents can enjoy a fulfilling and secure lifestyle within our communities.

We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Finance Manager to lead our Finance Team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this role is integral to implementing our organisational objectives and ensuring that the team has the capability to support our strategic aims. As a key member of the Leadership Team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, bringing a proactive and solution-oriented approach that fosters a positive working culture and reflects the values of VHA.

The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation by supporting the ongoing development and execution of VHA’s business plan. Managing and developing the Finance Team is a fundamental aspect of the role, ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient financial support services. A commitment to upholding VHA’s core values and embedding a culture of continuous improvement will be essential. The role also involves ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance in all areas of financial performance, particularly in relation to banking covenants and financial regulations.

Key responsibilities further include overseeing budget planning and monitoring to align financial resources with organisational objectives. The Finance Manager will support the Executive and Leadership Teams in understanding and managing their budgets while ensuring high standards in financial and management accounting, treasury, and cash management. The role also includes leading the preparation of statutory accounts, producing high-quality financial reports for senior management and Board presentations, and acting as the main point of contact for external auditors and key financial stakeholders.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in finance, holding a professional accountancy qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of post-qualification experience and a proven ability to lead and develop teams. Strong organisational skills, strategic planning abilities, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service are all essential. Experience within the not-for-profit or charity sector would be advantageous but is not essential.

If you are a motivated finance professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of older people, we encourage you to apply. Join us in our mission to create joy in later years and contribute to a team where people truly matter.
