Finance Manager

Working for an established and growing family-owned business as Finance Manager you will have the opportunity to contribute positively towards the development of the finance function and team.

The Finance Manager plays a key operational role, overseeing end-to-end finance operations, budgeting and cash flow management. Responsibilities include balance sheet reconciliations, process improvements, compliance and risk management. The Finance Manager will deal with auditors, VAT, HMRC processes and payroll, ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial operations to support business performance.

Reporting into the Financial Director as Finance Manager your role will include:

1. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and financial reporting
2. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in line with HMRC regulations
3. Oversee VAT returns, tax filings and adherence to financial regulations
4. Ensure sales invoices are produced accurately and on time
5. Maintain a robust purchase order system
6. Monitor and manage working capital
7. Produce accurate budgets and forecasts
8. Act as the key point of contact for internal and external audits
9. Implement controls and process improvement
10. Streamline accounting and reporting, improving financial controls

As Finance Manager you will be on site daily in Basildon managing a small finance team. This is a business that is well established and growing and developing so an exciting opportunity awaits.
