Finance Director

This long established £5m SME Print & Digital Media Publishing business - both grant-funded and with commercial revenue streams - is seeking a Finance Director to joint its senior management team as it embarks upon a period of growth and development.

The Finance Director role is both hands-on and strategic, managing a small team in finance and working closely with the impressive CEO.

Key responsibilities for this Finance Director role will include:

• Manage the day to day finance team of 4 staff together with responsibility for IT and HR
• Oversee preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts and analysis for decision-making
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance, providing insights and recommendations
• Liaise with department heads providing advice on operational efficiency and cost management
• Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and Board, contributing to planning and growth
• Responsible for the annual audit, liaising with external auditors and advisors
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures and controls for risk management
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, tax and statutory reporting
• Monitor industry trends and market conditions, providing insight that may impact the business

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ACMA) with at least 5 years' hands-on experience in a senior financial management role as Financial Controller, Finance Director or Head of Finance in an SME. Experience in the media, digital or publishing industries would be useful but not essential. Strong communication skills are essential to work well as part of the Senior Management Team, closely with the CEO. Competitive salary and benefits on offer.
