The Role
We are looking for an exceptional Finance Director to join our Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) at a transformative time for CIPFA. This is not just a key role—it is pivotal to our mission of evolving into a next-generation organisation. The Finance Director will provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring CIPFA’s financial resilience and compliance with charitable obligations. Your proactive financial advice and guidance will be crucial in achieving our strategic goals.

As Finance Director, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, from budgeting and reporting to auditing and investment activities. Your role will involve identifying and mitigating financial, strategic, corporate, and operational risks. You'll ensure that our financial systems and processes are robust and support both current activities and future growth. Additionally, you will play a significant role in supporting our exciting international strategy and growth plans, ensuring our financial alignment with global objectives.

As a member of the Corporate Leadership Team, you will contribute to the overall leadership of CIPFA, driving our vision and strategy. Your inspirational leadership and constructive challenge will be vital in our transformation efforts. You will lead key strategic projects and ensure effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders. Your teams will feel your focus on collaboration, respect, and innovation, and the wider organisation will experience a professional, proactive, and well-respected finance function.

The Person
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced finance professional with an understanding of public sector finance. You will be a qualified accountant and member of a chartered accountants institute with extensive experience across finance and a high commercial acumen.
