This opportunity has arisen due to an internal promotion, and the successful candidate will work with a large finance team, whilst managing a small team of junior finance assistants. Key Responsibilities:
Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts for businesses across France, Belgium, Germany, the UK, and Telematics under tight reporting deadlines.
Prepare supplementary returns for the US parent company's finance team.
Investigate and explain variances to budget and forecast.
Collaborate with the FP&A team to prepare detailed budgets and forecasts.
Build strong relationships with financial systems, FP&A, commercial, and credit teams for effective business partnering.
Prepare annual financial statements for statutory entities and liaise with external auditors.
Oversee the audit process for four legal entities.
Manage a junior finance team (1 qualified accountant, 2 part-qualified accountants).
Work with the financial systems team to ensure smooth implementation of system changes and upgrades.
Foster a culture of continuous people development and process improvement.
Ensure a strong accounting control environment through monthly balance sheet reconciliation processes.
Review month-end reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Manage AR ledgers for relevant businesses.
Support the preparation of financial and non-financial performance information for the Telematics business.
Act as the finance point of contact for staff in local offices.
Potential for European travel to meet compliance obligations.
Assist with finance projects as required.
What You'll Bring:
Qualified accountant with relevant work experience.
Proven ability to interface with all levels of management and staff.
Experience working within a large finance team, liaising with peer Financial Controllers.
Excellent technical accounting knowledge.
High level of IT literacy, including use of databases (MS Access).
Ability to delegate effectively while retaining responsibility.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience producing accounts for non-UK jurisdictions and working in a complex corporate environment.
Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines and liaise with external auditors.
Flexibility for potential international travel (1 trip per year).
Working Arrangements:
1 day per week in the office (typically Tuesdays), with flexible working hours available.
