Finance Business Partner - Digital

JD Group is a leading global omnichannel retailer of sports fashion and outdoor brands. As well as consistently delivering growth and scale, JD is currently undergoing a period of digital transformation. We are looking for a Finance Business Partner in [Commercial Finance (Digital)] to help teams deliver exceptional online performance and support the priorities of the Digital Centre of Excellence.

As the Finance Business Partner - Digital, you will work closely with leaders across the Digital function including Product, Digital technology and Customer data to fully embed financial support into key leadership decision-making. You will support all Digital teams to ensure roadmaps, plans, investment decisions and business cases are supported by robust financial analysis and insight. This involves owning Digital cost lines and reporting of core KPIs to financial and non-financial stakeholders to drive the delivery of ongoing performance.

Main duties:

  • Provide commercial support to the Associate Director Digital and the Head of Business Partnering on all Digital priorities, roadmaps, workload and investments.
  • Drive successful business outcomes by being a true partner to the Digital business, providing financial analysis, strategic insights and financial support for teams within the Digital Centre of Excellence.
  • Product teams - understand and support the Product roadmap for web, app and in-store technology across product squads and ensure commercial value is fully reflected in plans.
  • In-store experience and technology - drive close understanding of the in-store technology roadmap and costs as we accelerate the digital experience in-store.
  • Digital technology - work with digital technology leaders, the Technology Finance Business Partner, and Digital management accounts team on forecasting our digital technology spend across all divisions and fascias.
  • Customer data - support the development of our customer data strategy, the costs needed to underpin our ambition and the value opportunities available.
  • Procurement - work with Procurement providing commercial support during contract negotiations, identify options to consolidate and streamline our supplier base.
  • Business case development and tracking - ownership of key business cases for digital Product, Tech and Data initiatives. Provide insight into ROI. Track programme/project progress against strategic goals.
  • Input and understanding of month-end reporting, working closely with the operational finance team, enabling better forecasting and support to CoE.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Commercial Finance (in Digital and broader Finance Business Partners) as well as across the Finance function.
Skills/experience/knowledge needed:
  • 5 years+ CIMA / ACCA / ACA Qualified Accountant.
  • Commercial Finance / Business Partnering / Business Analysis background essential.
  • Candidates to demonstrate experience in e-commerce, marketplace, technology or digital sectors more widely.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong data analysis and financial modelling skills.
  • Ownership of workload and ability to summarise and prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Skilled at prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment and identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a track record of developing positive working relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Positive, flexible, enthusiastic and driven.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SQL a plus.
