Stoke-on-Trent & Hybrid | Salary: c50k £65k | Operationally Focused FBP

Axon Moore is delighted to partner with a well-established PLC in the manufacturing and retail sector to recruit a Finance Business Partner. This high-autonomy role will see you working closely with production and warehouse teams, providing financial insights to enhance profitability and efficiency.

This is a true business partnering role, where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact.

Responsibilities:

  1. Business Partnering - Support stakeholders with cost analysis, trend monitoring, and decision-making.
  2. Reporting & Insights - Develop clear financial reports, explain variances, and drive continuous improvements.
  3. Budgeting & Forecasting - Assist Operations leadership in setting and tracking financial targets.
  4. Cost & Inventory Management - Oversee standard costing, inventory valuation, and reporting.
  5. Month-End & Year-End - Lead reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
  6. Team Leadership - Manage and develop one direct report to enhance team performance.

The Candidate:

  1. Qualified CIMA (or equivalent) with manufacturing experience. (P/Q will be considered)
  2. Knowledge of standard costing systems & processes.
  3. Strong management accounting and month-end expertise.
  4. Advanced Excel skills and an analytical mindset.
  5. Clear communicator who can translate finance for non-financial teams.
  6. A proactive, team-oriented professional who drives positive change.
