Role Overview: Having just secured a large contract within defence, my client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Business Controller to join the team. This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, allowing you to balance office and remote work effectively. As a Finance Business Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial planning, analysing financial data, and supporting decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial planning and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Act as a business partner for Project and Line Managers by coordinating monthly financial project reviews.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgets.
- Assess revenue on projects based on Percentage of Cost (POC) and Time & Materials (T&M) principles.
- Reconcile monthly project work-in-progress.
- Monitor, report, and advise on project and contract status reviews.
- Prepare and present financial reports to local and Group senior management.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Support Operational managers in the preparation of contract bid proposals, billing, and cost rates as required.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.
- Proven experience in financial management and controlling.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of SAP, particularly SAP S4/Hana, is a bonus.
