Are you an experienced Finance Assistant with a keen eye for detail and a passion for education? A well-established secondary school in Newham is looking for a dedicated individual to join our finance team and support the smooth running of our financial operations.

About the Role

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school's finances are well managed. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other administrative staff to process financial transactions, manage invoices, and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process invoices, purchase orders, and payments using Sage
2. Assist with budget monitoring and reporting
3. Maintain accurate financial records and assist with audits
4. Handle petty cash and reconcile accounts
5. Support payroll and staff expense claims
6. Liaise with suppliers, staff, and external agencies regarding financial matters

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Previous experience in a finance role, ideally in an education setting
2. Knowledge and experience of Sage
3. Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Excellent organisational and communication skills
