Job description

Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant with previous experience in a similar accounting / financial role, excellent organisation, numeracy and IT skills is required for a market leading manufacturing company based in Comberton, Cambridgeshire.

SALARY: £26,000 - £32,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Yearly Bonus + Benefits (On-Site Parking, Cycle to Work Scheme, Healthcare, Pension and In-House on the Job Training)

LOCATION: Comberton, Cambridgeshire (CB23) – Fully Office Based

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant with previous experience in a similar accounting / financial role, excellent organisation, numeracy and IT skills.

Working as the Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the finance department, handling various tasks including invoicing, credit control, purchase ledger and bank reconciliations.

As the Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant you will have an excellent opportunity to develop your finance skills in a supportive environment as on-the-job training will be provided to enhance your development in this role.

DUTIES

  1. Invoicing: Generating and processing sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  2. Credit Control: Managing international credit control procedures, including chasing outstanding payments, resolving customer queries, and maintaining accurate records
  3. Purchase Ledger: Processing purchase invoices, matching them to purchase orders, and preparing payment runs
  4. Bank/Credit Card Reconciliations: Performing regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
  5. General Ledger Support: Assisting with general ledger postings and other financial administration tasks as required
  6. Administrative Support: Providing general administrative support to the finance team, including filing, data entry, and responding to emails

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Previous accounts / accounting / finance experience would be preferred
  2. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  3. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications
  4. An understanding of bank and credit card reconciliation processes
  5. Good numeracy skills
  6. Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
