Finance Assistant

Location: East Kilbride

Permanent, full-time onsite – flexible working available after probation

Salary up to £30,000 DOE + benefits

Mac Recruit Group Accountancy & Finance Division is delighted to be supporting a rapidly expanding business within the fast-casual dining sector as they continue to strengthen their finance team. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function, working within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a thriving and forward-thinking business. Reporting into the Finance Manager and Assistant Management Accountant, your role will cover the following areas:

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and reconciliation within Xero
  2. Liaise with team members across the business to ensure accurate supplier invoice approval
  3. Set up and manage bank payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  4. Handle supply chain invoice processing, including purchase orders, reconciliations, and sales invoices
  5. Perform bank transfers, weekly payment runs, and cash allocations
  6. Process expenses and journals, ensuring compliance with internal controls
  7. Investigate and resolve invoice queries, working closely with internal teams and suppliers
  8. Support the finance team with ad hoc duties as required

About You

  1. Experience in a Finance Assistant or Accounts Payable role within a fast-paced environment
  2. Proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software, SAP Concur or similar expense processing software
  3. Minimum of basic Excel skills
  4. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  5. Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with suppliers and internal teams
  6. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  7. A reliable, conscientious, and hard-working approach, with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership over tasks
