Job description

Finance Assistant

Due to expansion and the success of a global company, we are looking for a bright, energetic, and articulate Finance Assistant. You will be working within a diverse team at the company's European Hub in York. This is a small and collaborative team; however, you will be able to work with minimal supervision once you've had training and you know what you're doing.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Finance Assistant (possibly a graduate with some relevant work experience) to contribute to the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Producing month-end billing and client statements.
  2. Overseeing client invoicing and billing for European operations.
  3. Supporting credit assessments for new and existing clients, collaborating closely with Sales Managers.
  4. Utilising credit catalyst to identify and avoid potential payment issues.
  5. Providing monthly AR and collections reports to their USA based HQ.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Ideally a minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting roles (AAT or equivalent qualifications).
  2. The confidence to engage with customers to recover outstanding payments and resolve any disputes or queries.
  3. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, Excel, accounting software, and databases.
  4. Ability to (or the willingness to learn) analyse and organise large amounts of data.
  5. Ideally degree educated with high attention to detail and strong work ethic.
  6. Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external customers and vendors.

Salary: £28-35K depending upon experience
