The Dyson Institute is a Higher Education provider offering state of the art employer-sponsored degrees in engineering and technology. We are intimately connected with Dyson, a global leader in technology innovation, and aim to develop the best engineers in the world by combining rigorous academic programmes with professional work on future Dyson products from the outset. Our students incur no tuition fees and are paid employees from the time they join us, building their Dyson careers through a combination of stretching academic study and practical hands-on experience working with a range of teams at Dyson.
The Institute is a small, specialist team with a focus on quality and personalisation rather than scale. We have an exciting 2023-2028 strategy that sets the scene for us to increase our contribution as a strategic asset to Dyson.
This new role will provide important support services to the professional administration of the Institute. It uniquely reports into two areas of the Institute: finance and professional services, creating scope for diverse responsibilities which will make the role interesting and with opportunities for personal development.
The finance duties will directly support the Senior Finance Manager in the production of key finance reports for use by budget holders, institute managers and the governing board. They will play a key role in ensuring core policies relating to purchasing are followed in line with company expectations.
The professional services duties will include acting as secretary to the Institute Management Board, deploying key processes and administrative tasks to support the wider team.
Please note, this is a 12-month secondment opportunity.
Accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent).
Administrative experience (organising meetings, file management).
We would support a Level 4 Professional Accounting/Tax Technician apprentice.
Able to maintain confidentiality and role model the Institute’s management values.
