Finance Analyst

Contract Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract - Immediate start
Location: Gloucestershire, (GL3 4AQ)
Grade: RCS N
Hybrid working: 3 days a week in the office

Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week over 5 days, 25 days holiday, and a potential bonus

DHL, an award-winning, leading supply chain business, is seeking a Finance Analyst to play a vital role within our Finance function, performing all accounting processes for their respective operation.

Our team of Finance specialists do so much more than crunch numbers. They add value to our business by truly understanding our data and helping our teams make informed, commercial decisions.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, you will be responsible for:

  1. Performing accounting processes in scope for the respective site/customer, like month-end, reconciliations.
  2. Regular engagement with site ops teams, Reporting team, BU FCs, and shared services on inputs and outputs for the completion of common processes.
  3. Building deep business knowledge for the customer/sites in scope to provide support for decision making.
  4. Effectively maintaining period-end and year-end closing schedules for the customer/sites in scope. Adherence to finance processes and accurate, timely report production at site/customer level. Providing regular updates to the Reporting Manager on process completion, issue resolution, and any escalations.
  5. Delivering the processes in scope to the agreed KPI requirements and supporting performance management.
  6. Managing individual workflow, ensuring agreed deadlines are met.
  7. Ad hoc tasks as required. Any other purchasing or operational admin-related activities as required by the Controller or Manager.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
  1. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, V Lookups, and formulas.
  2. Clear, effective communicator.
  3. Ability to work well in a team.
  4. 1-2 years finance experience.
  5. Customer-facing experience.
  6. Knowledge of financial compliance and reporting requirements.
  7. Experience in accounting in a logistics or similar industry - desirable.
