Finance Analyst - Manufacturing

Full time / Hybrid (3 days on site per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst to join our Civil Aerospace Manufacturing Operations team based in Washington. This role will be known internally as a Domestic Finance Analyst.

This role will be based out of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Washington, Tyne & Wear supporting the two manufacturing plants on the campus. The manufacturing campus is our centre of excellence for disc manufacturing and plays a key role in manufacturing parts for a large array of customers across various sectors. The role will report directly to the Site Finance Business Partner (Site FBP) on site and features as part of the wider Compression Systems Manufacturing Business Unit, a key business within Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace Manufacturing Operations. The Domestic Finance Analyst will provide robust analyst support to the Site FBP and the first-line leadership teams, challenge the business to help make the right decisions, and provide business acumen to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and standardisation across Manufacturing Operations. The role supports financial governance and ensures that financial controls are operating effectively for the relevant area while adhering to standardised procedures & systems and maintaining functional stewardship.

What you will be doing:

1. Support the Site FBP and the North East team to provide information, insight, and challenge to the teams, driving strong financial performance on P&L/Balance sheet.
2. Robust and timely completion of Ap'ly reporting, including SAP, journals, P&L, and balance sheet.
3. Support and complete financial forecasts, including planning models and review packs, understanding key movements with comparators.
4. Support Manufacturing and functional teams to improve financial acumen and promote a cost-conscious culture.
5. Support cost engagement across the site(s); ensuring that regular cost reviews & idea generation are held; P&L status is understood to ensure key levers behind actuals and forecasts are recognised, as well as major risks identified/mitigated, and opportunities highlighted & maximised.
6. Robust review of actuals against forecasts to provide insightful commentary, identifying trends, and ensuring any corrective actions required by the Manufacturing & Functional teams are identified and prioritised.
7. Ensure that management information and insights can be relied upon, and robust governance & stewardship is achieved.
8. Provide financial & business advice to the business in raising capital schemes; ensure that capital is appropriately planned and business cases are sound and adhere to the appropriate governance.
9. Provide robust support to PMO and business cases, as required.
10. Provide leadership support and delegation to the Site FBP when required.
11. Work closely with the Man Ops HQ team and EFSC to ensure that appropriate finance support is provided to the sites.
12. Accountable for effective business & financial controls and compliance for the Site(s), including Blackline, AUC reviews, and Impairment reviews.
13. Work proactively with Site Domestic CoP to simplify/standardise key processes, and share and deploy best knowledge.

• Finance Professional (part or fully qualified).
• Knowledge of SAP and HFM is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills.

• Experience in communicating with non-Finance personnel.
• Experience working in an accounting role.
• Customer-focused, with a drive for process improvement.

Please note that there will be occasional travel to the Rolls-Royce site based in Derby.
