Job Description
Role Purpose:
The IT Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting the end-to-end process of the Global Data Centre Infrastructure analysis, reporting, planning, and forecasting. The Global Data Centre (GDC) provides IT project application development and infrastructure development for other Chubb affiliates. The team is responsible for understanding the IT demands, priorities and problem areas within the business teams and making sure all IT requirements are understood and being managed.
This end-to-end process will include the review and support of the overall Infrastructure cash spend, projects and expense within the P&L. It will involve developing the forecast and assist with planning processes and timely communication of issues and changes. The role will include liaising with Infrastructure Management, Financial Accountant, and other finance leads.
The role will be based in Crawley with focused efforts in providing financial & business partnering for IT projects. A key aspect of this role is to drive strong financial controls and the ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-Finance teams. They must have a good eye for detail, ability to investigating and explain the drivers of the result and being able to identify risks/opportunities to bring results back in line with plan. Assist the Snr IT Finance Analyst and the COG IT & Ops DFO to pull the numbers together and support them on improving processes and other ad hoc projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Snr IT Finance Analyst with Forecasting and with annual planning and 5-year strategic plan of infrastructure spend.
Support the timely and quality submission of the Infra spend, projects and expense forecast which will include preparation and review of analytical review commentary for monthly reports.
Support and Manage the IT allocations for all reporting, forecasting, and planning process and ensure that the conversion of the IT support expense is well understood and that a demonstrable audit trail exists.
Support and manage the consumption model for infrastructure costs to demonstrate to COG stakeholders what their charges consist of.
Ensure that proactively identifying areas of risk and opportunity within the Infra expense base.
Support with capital spend and associated depreciation model.
Two-way interaction with the Financial Accountant to provide and obtain information and understand the impact on the forecast on the financial result.
Assist other resources with raising purchase orders and vendor queries. Review and processing of intercompany invoices.
Supporting Snr IT Finance Analyst with ad hoc purchase orders and other supplier needs.
Manage the quarterly invoices for Infrastructure and that they are sent timely and including any additional Capacity and Demand charges. Along with recharges to COG Global Applications department their additional Infrastructure costs.
Assist the Snr IT Finance Analyst on improving processes and other ad hoc projects.
Ownership of month end financial accruals and prepayment into Peoplesoft.
Support the Snr IT Finance Analyst on the monthly finance reporting (CIO) to Head Office and provide commentary on actuals and full year forecast movements.
Qualifications
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
Commercial Acumen
High level of analytical ability and process analysis
Strong Systems and Excel knowledge
High orientation to on-time delivery
Proven record of meeting tight deadlines
IT Finance FP&A experience
Experience of dealing effectively with people at all levels (both financial & non financial)
Ideally previous experience working on business change projects.
