Service Care Solutions are working alongside a Local Authority in Conwy who are looking for a motivated Finance Accounting Officer to join their team on a temporary contract. Please find a description of the role below.

Role: Finance Accounting Officer.

Salary: £14.36 – £16.81 per hour (PAYE) / £15-80 - £18.62 per hour (Umbrella)

Working: Hybrid.

Location: Conwy.

Contract: 3 months on going.

Role Overview:

  • Assist in preparing school budgets and year-end accounts.
  • Support financial planning and projections to help schools optimise resource use.
  • Maintain financial reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and monthly reconciliations with the authority ledger.
  • Advise school staff on financial procedures, budget reports, and administrative issues.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from schools, contractors, and departments.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, CITDS, audit trails, and Financial Regulations.
  • Support all aspects of creditor payments, order logging, and regulation adherence.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation and financial best practices.
  • Carry out other finance-related duties as required, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
