Temporary GCSE and A-Level Film and Media Teacher

Location: Bishop’s Stortford
Contract Type: Temporary (Start Date: ASAP, End Date: Ongoing)
Hours: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Job Description:

Our client school is seeking a temporary Film and Media Teacher to teach engaging lessons for both GCSE and A-level Film and Media Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teach GCSE and A-level Film and Media Studies to students aged 14-18.
  2. Design and implement lessons that are engaging, innovative, and academically rigorous.
  3. Provide regular assessments, feedback, and student support.
  4. Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and the wider school community.
  5. Work collaboratively with the department and contribute to school-wide events and initiatives.

Person Criteria:

  1. A relevant degree in Film Studies, Media Studies, or a related field.
  2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
  3. Proven experience teaching Film and/or Media Studies at GCSE or A-level is desirable.
  4. A passion for film, media, and education, with a creative and dynamic teaching style.
  5. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Experience with exam preparation and delivering extracurricular film/media-related activities.
  7. A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with a commitment to student success.
