Job description

Dematic has an excellent opportunity for a Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our engineering team on a permanent basis. The role forms part of a wider mobile engineering team who are collectively responsible for undertaking and providing breakdown cover for Dematic installed equipment across various customer sites in the UK.


The position will support the Dematic installed base by undertaking emergency breakdown cover for electrical and mechanical related disciplines. Scheduled service work forms a large part of the role.


Due to the mobile nature of the position, you will be travelling out to various customer sites across the UK on a regular basis and providing call-out support for emergency breakdowns. To support this, we provide a company van in addition to all the tools and equipment required to carry out the role.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices.
  2. To undertake emergency repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices.
  3. To undertake scheduled service work in accordance with the standards set out in the relevant manufacturers equipment manual.
  4. To accurately record all work undertaken.
  5. To provide a 24hr x 7day emergency on-call service as required.
  6. To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.
  7. To ensure quality of output at all times.
  8. To represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
  9. To ensure the correct equipment/tools are carried to undertake the role.
  10. To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company.
  11. To identify continuous improvement and sales opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. 5 years experience within the warehouse automated industry.
  2. Minimum ONC (or equivalent) qualification in Mechanical / Maintenance discipline.
  3. Electrical qualified.
  4. Good understanding of MHE and Automated System.
  5. LEEA Part 1.
  6. Working knowledge of LOLER regulations.
  7. Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry.
